Bear and Wildlife Watching at Klahoose Wilderness Resort

6 nights from £3,469 per person Including Flights

Overview

Its location is stunning, north of British Columbia’s Sunshine Coast, and its green credentials are impeccable, making Klahoose Wilderness Lodge one of our most sought-after places to experience the wilderness of BC. Klahoose was granted the prestigious Silver Certification from GreenStep Sustainable Tourism, the entire resort operates off-grid with its own micropower system. The diverse wildlife in this rain forest and ocean setting means you will experience the sight of humpback whales, orca, dolphins and eagles, and at certain times of year – grizzly and black bears.

The wildlife spotting at Klahoose is split into three seasons. Spring - from May until mid-June tours are taken by boat to see both black and grizzly bears on the shore where they are feeding. At this time of year you will also see returning humpback whales and myriad marine life. Summer – From mid-June to mid-August you will see orca and humpback whale, and the emphasis is on kayaking through the crystal clear water, hiking scenic trails and cultural tours that showcase the rich heritage of the Klahoose First Nation. Grizzly Bear Season – from late August to mid-October the tours run by boat and then bus to viewing platforms to watch the grizzly bears as they catch salmon.

You can enjoy a 3 or 4 night all-inclusive stay in one of seven lodge rooms or private cabins overlooking the ocean. Included in your stay are wildlife and cultural tours, Indigenous activities, kayaking, hiking trails, a sauna, and all meals prepared by the chef. You can either book this Vancouver & Klahoose Resort twin centre, or include Klahoose Resort in a self-drive itinerary - please ask your travel consultant for a tailormade quote.
