Day 1
Fly to Ottawa and check into your chosen hotel
Day 2
A great way to orientate yourself in Canada’s capital is to book the hop-on hop-off tour of the city. Spend the morning being driven through the different neighbourhoods, past embassies, universities, museums. You will see the Canadian Mint, the National Gallery of Canada, the residence of the Prime Minister and the National Arts Centre. You’ll get a great overview from the comfort of the bus and can decided where you would like to spend more time.
Day 3
Delve deeper into history and dynamics of the city this morning with a Historical Highlights Walking Tour. The guide will take you on a two hour stroll around Parliament Hill, Sparks Street, Major’s Hill Park, the Prime Ministers offices and more. With fascinating stories of its colourful history, political characters and architecture, this tour will bring the city alive.
Spend the afternoon in the Canadian War Museum, which tells the story of Canada’s military history within a breath-taking architectural setting. You’ll have much to discuss over dinner tonight!
Day 4
Start the day taking the Ottawa Express, a leisurely 2 hour guided cycle ride along the Rideau Canal pathway, to the Rideau Locks, the Fletcher Wild Life Garden and Arboreum, ending with a spin around the Parliament area.
After this morning’s exercise, experience a cruise along the River Ottawa, enjoying a different perspective of the city from the water – a lovely way to see how Ottawa has developed over the years
Day 5
No trip to Ottawa would be complete without a visit to the unique Canadian Museum of Nature, where you will be able to discover Canada’s diverse nature under one roof. Five floors of galleries include dinosaurs, a blue whale skeleton, iconic Canadian mammals and birds. The Canada Goose Arctic Gallery offers a unique window to the Arctic’s geography, climate, people & wildlife.
This evening you could finish with a Haunted Walk Tour. This great ghost adventure lasts an hour and a half, and you’ll be guided through the city’s favourite haunted spots!
Day 6
It’s time to either fly home or continue your Canadian adventure in Toronto, Niagara Falls, Montreal or beyond.
