Ottawa Winterlude City Break
Overview
For 18 days from 1st February, the Capital of Canada – Ottawa – is transformed by the Winterlude Festival. A celebration of all things snowy and frozen, the Winterlude features fun and fascinating events and exhibitions centred around three main locations. The iconic Rideau Canal Skateway is the world’s largest skating rink at nearly five miles long, and worth seeing at any time during the winter. But during Winterlude it is also host to ice hockey matches, a hilarious bed race and a Triathlon. Jacques-Cartier Park is the site of North America’s biggest snow playground – the Snowflake Kingdom, with larger than life snow slides and lots of family fun. At the Crystal Garden in Confederation Park there are a series of exhibitions and events including comedy nights and DJ shows.
Ottawa is a great place for a short break at any time of year, but why not visit during Winterlude so you can enjoy the extra attractions of this winter wonderland.
