Experience Montreal

3 nights from £1,319 per person Including Flights

Overview

It’s a relatively short flight to Montréal all, taking just over 7 hours, so this great city is close enough for a short break, and we’ve created this tailormade itinerary as a suggestion for maximising your time this dynamic city. All of our holidays to Canada are tailormade, so we can also add this holiday to another tour such as the Western Journey or a twin centre like Toronto & Niagara Falls.

Montreal is the cultural capital of Canada and is a lovely city to explore, from the modern art galleries to the quaint old town, you’ll love the French-influenced food and the cool vibe. You can take a horse-drawn carriage around the cobbled streets and grand buildings of Old Montréal, with a distinctly European Turn-of-Century flavour. Visit the beautiful Basilique Notre Dame, built in 1656 with its stunning interior, featuring stained class which chronicles the city’s history. (TM)

Day 1

Fly to Montréal

On arrival into Montréal, transfer independently to your chosen hotel for a three night stay. We can either pre-book a transfer for you or you can simply take a taxi from the airport to the downtown area. Enjoy a relaxing evening in one of the many excellent restaurants on offer.

Three nights at the Delta Montréal or upgrade to the Fairmont The Queen Elizabeth.

Days 2 and 3

Montréal

We have included a 2 day hop-on hop-off bus pass in this holiday, and this is a good place to start to get your bearings. Plan out your route and make sure you include a stop at the Basilique Notre Dame, the Old Port and the Musee des beaux-arts de Montreal.

A lovely neighbourhood to stroll is the Plateau Mont-Royal, with its charming architecture and quirky boutiques and cafes. Downtown Montreal is filled with great shopping opportunities and a wide variety of restaurants for all budgets.

You can also visit the Olympic Park, built for the 1976 summer Olympics. Here you can admire Montreal from the highest inclined tower in the world and visit the exhibition displaying the summer of 1976.

If the weather is good, then we would recommend a walk through the Mount Royal Park, designed by the man behind New York’s Central Park. The park is beautiful and there are several vantage points where you can enjoy views of the city.
